Introduction
A genuine interest in people and a passion for travel, culture and humanitarian issues has been reflected throughout Gail's working life. Gail has lived in France, Austria, Greece, North Africa, West Africa and South East Asia and her career includes Senior Management experience with leading UK Tour Operators. Wanting to pursue other interests whilst continuing her involvement with the Travel Industry, Gail founded 'Gail Ward Photography' which focuses on her communication and photographic skills.
Gail now combines her business background and creative skills working in partnership with the Travel and Tourism Industry, Humanitarian Organisations, NGO’s and NCO’s plus a variety of Business and media publications.
Gail's photography has been published, exhibited, purchased privately and is sold via stock libraries. Editorial and word/picture assignments have been published in magazines, Company media, national and local publications.
Experience & Expertise
Gail combine's photography and writing skills with her Travel & Tourism Industry expertise and NFP experience She speaks good French and Greek, has a professional, responsible and sensitive approach to her work, a good sense of humour and loves a challenge. Gail takes an independent view point, uses her instinct to search out her stories, and is always conscious that people trust her to report on their lives and situations accurately and honestly. Gail understands the importance of following a brief, keeping to deadlines - and budgets. Africa features significantly in her life and work, with a particular love of Morocco, Rwanda and West Africa. One of her most rewarding projects was in Belarus documenting the stories of children living with the after effects of the Chernobyl disaster for SOS Children's Villages. Gail gets the most satisfaction when working on assignments that have a strong purpose and raise awareness of the lives of others.
