Introduction

After 12 years as a broadcaster and producer with the BBC, and 30 years experience as a writer concentrating on travel and history subjects, I am once again able to concentrate on the freelance travel writing. I've written on all manner of subjects within this field, from the high-life of brand new cruise ships, to the desperate squalour of leper colonies in Zambia. My style can vary from the absolutely straight, to tongue-in-cheek, to my natural humourous take on life. I have travelled widely, especially off the beaten track, and have a genuine passion for passing on my enthusiasm for travel through my writing. As for myself, I am married, with a beautiful 7 year-old daughter. I live in Folkestone, on the south east coast of England, where I play my music way too loud, and drive my home built kit-car far too fast! But hey, life's for living.

Awards Received

Sony Gold Award, the highest in British broadcasting, for programmes marking the 60th anniversary of D-Day. We followed a group of Normandy Veterans on their journey back to the beaches, and I wrote and produced the associated articles and documentary on the campaign.
